Terms of Service

    The short version: Sage is an AI wellness companion, not a medical service. Use it to understand your habits and patterns — not to diagnose or treat anything. Be kind to yourself and honest with the app. Pay for what you use. We can end the relationship if you abuse it.
  

1. What Sage is — and isn't

Sage is an AI-powered wellness companion that helps you log food, sleep, mood, exercise, and symptoms, and surfaces patterns in your data over time.

Sage is not a medical service. Nothing in the app — no response, insight, suggestion, or trend — constitutes medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. If you have a health concern, speak to a qualified healthcare professional. Do not delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something Sage said.

2. Who can use Sage

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By using Sage, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

Accounts are personal. You may not share your account or use it on behalf of another person without their knowledge.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Use a strong, unique password. If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the service, or engage in behaviour that harms other users or the integrity of the platform.

4. What you can and can't do

You may use Sage to log your personal wellness data, chat with the AI assistant, review your trends, and export your data.

You may not:

Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt the service's infrastructure or other users' accounts.
Submit false or misleading information with the intent to manipulate the AI's responses in harmful ways.
Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the service.

5. What you share with Sage

You own the data you enter. By using Sage, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and analyse your wellness data for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Anonymized aggregate data (which cannot be linked back to you — see our Privacy Policy) may be used to understand health trends and improve the product.

Please use common sense about what you share. Sage is designed for food, sleep, mood, and movement. Don't enter sensitive medical records, financial information, or anything you consider private beyond your everyday wellness habits.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Sage offers a free tier and two paid plans:

Free: 30 lifetime messages, no payment required.
Pro: $12/month — unlimited access, billed monthly via Stripe.
Pro+: $99/year — same as Pro, billed annually ($8.25/month).

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges at the stated interval until you cancel.

Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect immediately — your subscription will not renew and you will not be charged again. See our Refund Policy for satisfaction guarantee windows for new subscribers.

If a payment fails, we may downgrade your account to the free tier. We'll attempt to notify you by email before doing so.

7. Availability

We aim to keep sage available and working well, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, and unexpected outages happen. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.

sage is powered by Claude, Anthropic's AI. Occasionally Anthropic's systems experience high demand or brief outages — during those periods, sage may be temporarily unavailable or slower than usual. This is outside our control. The chat window includes a status indicator that reflects the current connection state, so you'll know if something is wrong before you send a message.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sage and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including any health decisions you make based on information provided by the app.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time from within the app. On closure, your name, email, and login credentials are permanently deleted. Your anonymized wellness logs are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may terminate or suspend your account without notice if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service, we will provide reasonable notice where possible.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Sage operates. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
